David Zonana

David Zonana is a Mexican director, screenwriter and producer whose films address social issues, often working with non-professional actors. His first feature, “Workforce” (Mano de obra, 2019), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival before screening in the Official Selection at San Sebastián, and won two Ariel Awards, including Best First Feature. “Heroico” (2023), set around the Heroico Colegio Militar, was presented in the international competition at Sundance and then at the Berlinale (Panorama), before screening at FIJA 2024.
